Woman to Woman Massage - Swedish Massage
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It is sometimes called a classic massage. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.
Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.
Swedish massage may loosen up tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at the computer or exercising. It can be extremely helpful for people who hold a lot of tension in their:
-
Lower back
-
Shoulders
-
Neck
A traditional Swedish massage involves the whole body. You will begin on either your back or your stomach and flip over at the halfway point.
If you have an area of particular concern, such as a tight neck, you can ask your therapist to spend more time in this area. Depending on your preferences, you can ask your massage therapist to use light, medium, or firm pressure.
Aromatherapy massages are best for people who want to have an emotional healing component to their massage. This type of massage can help:
-
Boost your mood
-
Reduce stress and anxiety
-
Reduce symptoms of depression
-
Relieve muscle tension
-
Relieve pain
Aromatherapy massages combine soft, gentle pressure with the use of essential oils. You can let your massage therapist decide which essential oils to use, but you can let her know if you have a preference. Essential oils are diluted before being applied to the skin.

Reiki
Woman to Woman Massage - Reiki
Reflexology is a type of massage that involves applying different amounts of pressure to the feet, hands, and ears. It is based on a theory that these body parts are connected to certain organs and body systems. People who practice this technique are called reflexologists.
Reflexologists believe that applying pressure to these areas of the body offers a range of health benefits.
Reflexology rests on the ancient Chinese belief in qi (pronounced “Chee”), or “vital energy.” According to this belief, qi flows through each person. When a person feels stressed, their body blocks qi.
This can cause an imbalance in the body that leads to illness. Reflexology aims to keep qi flowing through the body, keeping it balanced and disease-free.
In Chinese medicine, different body parts correspond with different pressure points on the body. Reflexologists use maps of these points in the feet, hands, and ears to determine where they should apply pressure.
The word “Reiki” means “mysterious atmosphere, miraculous sign.” It comes from the Japanese words “rei” (universal) and “Ki” (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing.
Energy healing targets the energy fields around the body.
According to practitioners, energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or possibly emotional pain. In time, these energy blocks can cause illness.
Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Improving the flow of energy around the body. Practitioners can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
Reiki has been around for thousands of years. Its current form was first developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist, Mikao Usui, who reportedly taught 2,000 people the Reiki method during his lifetime. The practice spread to the U.S. through Hawaii in the 1940s, and then to Europe in the 1980s.
Shaine's Passion
I originally wanted to become a massage therapist because I supported the idea of therapeutic touch for healing. Also, the need for using a holistic approach to medical issues was not taken seriously by the traditional field of medicine.
After over twenty years of licensed practice and study, I am now fortunate enough to be able to offer multiple techniques that I combine and customize for each individual client, depending on their want and need.
